Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform fractional separation of nonmetallic interposing substance in steel sample, by forming electrolytic residue and electric conductive substance after mixing said substances and carrying out a constant-potential electrolysis of this formed body. CONSTITUTION:One face of a platinum net 2 is cnvered with a filter paper 1 which is an electrically nonconductive material and a powdered sample 3 which is a mixture of electrolytic residue of steel sample and copper powder, is placed on the other exposed face and then, electrolytic sample is made by carrying out press-forming of said net 2. Action of the paper 1 is to prevent to contact the net 2 with an electrolyte directly. A small hole 4 for connecting a lead wire with a power source is provided at the central part of the paper 1 and contact with the lead wire is ensured by a platinum foil small piece 5 placed at the central part of the net 2. By processing the sample in such a construction, adhesion of the platinum net and copper matrix, is strengthened and also, the copper is dissolved from the opposite side of sticked part with the platinum net by turning an electric current by using the platinum net sealed the outer face by the filter paper as anode and then, the electrolysis is carried out completely.
