Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve operation efficiency and reliability by reducing the ultrasonic exposure of an operator greatly, by automatically performing the ultrasonic flaw detection of even the inflection part piping. CONSTITUTION:The pulse motor 8 of a linear driving mechanism 6 is driven by a signal from a control circuit 28 to move a moving member 4 along the linear part 1c of piping 1, and the pulse motor 15 of a rotary driving mechanism 12 is also drive to rotate rotary arms 10a and 10b corresponding to the extent of movement of the member 4. The moving member 16 moves along the inflection part 1a of the piping 1 and the pulse motor 21 of a rotary driving mechanism 18 is driven to hold the attitude of the moving member 16 in the radius-of curvature direction of the inflection part 1a all the time. Then, the pulse motor 27 of a driving mechanism 24 is driven to turn an inside ring member 16a, and ultrasonic-wave probes 23., while turning in the circimferential direction along the surface of the piping 1, move in the pipe-axis direction of the inflection part 1a.
