Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture an array ultrasonic probe, having the same directivity with conventional one, at lower cost, by constituting the probe by dividing ultrasonic oscillators equally into two and by relatively moving and arraying them in parallel. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic oscillators T1, T2... each in a rectangular prism shape are arrayed on a damper. In this array ultrasoic probe, a half number of ultrasonic oscillators T1, T3... are arrayed so that their centers are positioned at points P11, P12... set at equal intervals d=2d1 on a straight line l1, and the other half number of oscillators T2, T4... are arrayed so that their centers are at points P21, P22... shifted, on a straight line l2 parallel to the said line l1, in parallel from the said points P11, P12... relatively by distance d/2 along the straight line l2. As for the directivity of an ultrasonic beam, same side lobe level with a conventional array ultrasonic probe of this kind is obtained.
