Abstract
PURPOSE:To transfer the polarization potential of a photosensitive layer by an optical image to a dielectric layer as much as deviation, by transferring and superposing a difference potential between a carrier polarization potential of the photosensitive layer and that corresponding to the optical image upon the partial polarization potential of the dielectric layer. CONSTITUTION:With regard to the states of polarization potentials of a dielectric layer and a photosensitive layer on various conditions, the entire surface is exposed after a common point 5 in time when the photoreceptor is moved in a lateral axis direction, and polarization potentials E1, E2 and E3 held in the dielectric layer are extracted when the partial potential of the photosensitive layer is erased. Here, E1<E2<E3 and those potentials work so that variations of the polarization potential of the photosensitive layer are superposed upon the dielectric layer. Namely, they operate as if the polarization potential of the photosensitive layer by an optical image were transferred to the dielectric layer as much as deviation. Consequently, an original is scanned synchronizing with the photoreceptor and irradiated with the optical image to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor.
