Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a loss of secondary flow generated in a structure of blade train arranged circularly by forming many voltex generators in the upstream side from the leading edge of each blade.
CONSTITUTION: Nozzles 4, 6 and rotary blades 5, 7 are arranged alternately in an annular flow path 3 formed between a casing also acting as a supporting wall for the blades and a central member 2. Many voltex generators 11 are circumferentially made at the same intervals on the faces of the supporting walls K, K' exposed to a fluid at positions in the upstream from the leading edge of each blade. The boundary layer of the film is extremely thinned when passing through the blades, to reduce the secondary flow or reduce its loss, thereby increasing the efficiency of operation.
