Abstract
PURPOSE: To weld automatically the whole welding line of a work that consists of linear parts and curved parts by controlling synchronously the traveling of automatic welding machine and rotation of a work in opposite direction keeping the welding position of the machine always downward and maintaining the welding line speed constant.
CONSTITUTION: A welding machine 15 is run on a rack rail while keeping the rotating shaft 6 of a plate 9 at a standstill between A-A where a welding line 14 which is at the base of an end plate 13a of a work 13 fitted between side plates 9, 12, and a shell plate 13e. When the welding machine comes near a point (b) on the traveling path 41, a knob 36(x) provided at an intersection of linear part and curved part is detected 35a. The detected signal is sent to a controller 4 and a driving unit 8 is activated by the instruction to turn the shaft 6. The plates 9, 12 are turned clockwise around a point P. The welding machine 15 makes automatic welding between B-C of a line 14 keeping downward position. When the work 13 turns by θ° which is equal to an angle θ° formed by an extension of A-B and an extension of C-D, point (c) on the line 14 moves to a point (c'). The welding machine 15 performs automatic welding between C-D of the traveling path.
