Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting performance for the engine of captioned construction by fastening the flanges of a crank case and a cylinder body, inserting fastening bolts from the crank case through the installation holes thus eliminating the disturbance of fins or the like during installation process. CONSTITUTION:A flange member 14 a provided on the upper face of a crank case 14 faces a joint face 11a provided on the lower face of cylinder block 11. Fastening bolts 11 are inserted into through holes 14b provided in the flange member 14a from the crank case and screwed into threaded holes 11b provided in a cylinder block 11, so as to fasten both the members. Therefore, this construction can provide easy means to fasten the cylinder body to the crank case without providing through holes for fastening bolts axially to the cylinder body as well as notched cooling fins.
