Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the discharge rate of a vane pump constant by moving a pressing member of a cylinder device back and forth according to the differential pressure of an orifice privided in a discharge passage thereby reducing the eccentricity between the center of a cylindrical cam and the center of a rotor when the differential pressure becomes larger.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure in a discharge passage 41 rises with the increase of the pump rotation to increase the differential pressure between the upstream side and downstream side of an orifice 44 moving pistons 29 and 30 in pressure chambers 33 and 34 respectively to the left and in turn moving pressing members 21 and 22 fixed to rods 25 and 26, the upper pressing member 21 pressing down a slope 12 on the top surface of a cam ring 10 by its inclined face 21a and the lower pressing member 22 retracting to withdraw its inclined face 22a from a slope 13 on the bottom surface of the cam ring 10. Thus the cam ring 10 moves downward to reduce the eccentricity between the center O1 of the rotor and the center O2 of the cylindrical cam reducing the pump discharge rate thereby maintaining the discharge rate approximately constant despite of the pump rotation increase.
