Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a solid feed for increasing the lactation of a nursing pig, by making a solid feed to contain larger amount of L-isoleucine than required by a nursing pig.
CONSTITUTION: A feed having excellent palatability to pig, e.g. corn extract food, etc., is mixed homogeneously with L-isoleucine and pressed to a plate having partition grooves. One partitioned section of the plate contains about 2W5g of L-isoleucine. A nursing pig is fed everyday with one piece of the partitioned plate in addition to the normal feed from the parturition to 5W7 days before the weaning.
