Abstract

PURPOSE: A plaster useful for remedying the affected part of the body having improved prolonged effect of a drug, obtained by making the crosslinking density of a drug-containing tacky polymer layer formed on a substrate impermeable to the drug higher at the outside part of the polymer layer than at its inside part so that the diffusion rate of the drug is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: In a plaster useful for remedying the affected part of the body or administrating a medicine to the circulatory system by applying a polymer layer to the surface of the body, comprising the tacky polymer layer 2 consisting of a drug and optionally drug releasing auxiliary on the substrate 1 impermeable to the drug, the crosslinking density is made higher at the outside part (the exposed surface) 3 of the polymer layer than the inside part (the bonding interface of the substrate) 5 so that the abrupt diffusion transfer of the drug in the polymer layer is suppressed by the outside layer having high crosslinking density and the drug is released prolongably. The thickness of the outside layer 3 is about 1/50W1/2 the whole tacky polymer layer 2, and usually about 3W20μ from the outside surface of the polymer layer preferably.
