Abstract

PURPOSE: A high-nitrile resin in which the composition of the graft portion is different from that of the matrix and which has excellent fluidity, excellent impact resistance and extremely high solvent resistance, prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile in the presence of a rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A high-nitrile resin prepared by graft-polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile, e.g., acrylonitrile, an aromatic vinyl compound, e.g., styrene, and/or an alkyl (meth)-acrylate, e.g., methyl methacrylate, in the presence of 5W 20pts.wt. rubber having a 1,3-conjugated diene content of at least 50wt%; containing (A) 2W40pts.wt. graft portion and 40W93pts.wt. matrix resin portion; and having a relationship between X, the wt% of the ethylenically unsaturated nitrile component in portion A, and Y, the wt% of the ethylenically unsaturated nitrile component in portion B.
