Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition which is excellent in storage stability, temporary adhesion and winter fluidity when used as an adhesive, exhibits excellent water resistance when heat-set and is excellent in washability of its paste solution, by adding a cationized PVA to an amino resin.
CONSTITUTION: The titled composition is obtained by adding a cationized PVA to a precondensate of an amino compound and a formaldehyde before, during or after its condensation reaction. As said cationized PVA, there is particularly preferred one containing copolymerization units of (A) formulaI, wherein R1W2 are each H or a lower alkyl, B is NR3R4 or N+R3R4R5.X-(R3W5 are each H or an optionally substituted lower alkyl and X is an anion and A is a group connecting the N in B to the N in the amide group), (B) formula II or III wherein R6W8 are each H, a lower alkyl or phenyl and R9 is a lower alkyl, or (C) formula IV, wherein D is an alkylene connecting the N in B to the 0 of the ether group.
