PURPOSE: A non- or low-toxic halogen-contg. resin composition with excellent stability to deterioration due to light or heat, prepd. by the addition of a specified org. phosphite compd. to a halogen-contg. resin.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepd. by the addition of an org. phosphite compd. of formulaI(wherein R1 is 1W4 alkyl; R2 is a divalent hydrocarbon group; R3 is alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl; R4 is a group of formula II, alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl; m is a positive integer) such as a compd. of formula III or IV, to a halogen-contg. resin such as PVC, polyvinylidene chloride or vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer. The compd. of the formulaIis characterized by excellent stability to deterioration due to light or heat and exceedingly low toxicity. The purpose is achieved by use of about 0.01W10pts.wt. these epoxy compounds for 100pts.wt. resin.
