Abstract

PURPOSE: To elevate the heat exchanging efficiency with the diffusion of water in a can by turning a flow water by inserting a spiral member such as twisted plate into a water feed tube of a water heater.
CONSTITUTION: The water feed pipe 5 of a water heater forms a sectional shape expanding in the circumferential direction of a can body by pressing the connection part therewith by steps. A spiral member, for example, a twisted plate 10, is mounted in the pipe 5 to diffuse the feed water flux from the pipe 5 in a hot water storag tank 3 in the circumferential direction thereof by centrifugal force. The use of a water feed pipe 5 with such a spiral member 10 enables positive contact of the feed water with a heat exchanging surface of the inner shell 2 with a greater diffusion of thereof thereby providing a higher heat exchanging efficiency.
