Abstract

PURPOSE: The reaction between an aromatic nitro compound and carbon monoxide is conducted in the presence of a maine catalyst of a noble metal and a cocatalyst of a compound of a metal of VA group at high temperature under high pressure to produce the titled compound used as a raw material of polyurethane directly in high yield.
CONSTITUTION: At least one selected from a mixture of a compound of noble metal such as Ru and a heteroaromatic nitrogen compound such a pyrrole, a complex of noble metal coordinated by the above nitrogen compound such as bis(pyridine) dichloropalladium (II) and a mixture of the complex and the nitrogen compound is used as a main catalyst and at least one of cyclopentadienyl halide of transition metal of group VA in the periodic table is used as a cocatalyst to effect the reaction between an aromatic nitro compound such as nitrobenzene and carbon monoxide at high temperature under high pressure, thus producing the titled compound.
