Abstract

PURPOSE:To record the profile of a solid body in a analog manner by obtaining position information from measuring elements through a sampling at a fixed time interval employing a coordinate measuring apparatus of a polar coordinate detection system. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate measuring apparatus of a polar coordinate detection system is made up of a measuring element 7 provided at the tip of several arms 4-6 connected together with rotable joints while an angle measuring device 9 is provided on each joint to detect the angle of rotation thereof. Outputs of the apparatus and the device 9 are fed to a rectangular coordinate conversion arithmetic section 11 of a data processing section 10, which provides outputs at a fixed time interval with a clock generator 14. The outputs are applied to a recording section 15 via a projection surface selector 12 and aminterpolation device 13 and converted into an analong signal with an D/A converter 16 to plot a profile shape. This time sampling system enables the movement of the measuring element 7 fast at the flat part of a solid body and slow at the bent part thereof ensuring an accurate recording.
