Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an attitude reference position without singular point by cal- culating a direction cosine value representing the attitude of a flying body from out- puts of an angle sensor and two rate sensors carried on a platform with a gyro. CONSTITUTION:An attitude reference appparatus for a flying body is made up of two rate sensors 2 and 3 and a gyro 4 mounted on a platform 1 rotating about a ro- tary shaft 3 in the direction of axes e1-e3. The gyro 4 detercts the angle of rotation to drive a motor 7 while an angular speed obtained from the rate sensors 2 and 3 and the output of an angle sensor 8 for measuring a relative angle between the plat- form 1 and an aircraft body are applied to an arithmetic unit 9 to calculate a direc- tion cosine value representing momentary attitudes. Therefroe, the use of cosine value in the direction of each axis of a coordinate system fixed on the aricraftelimi- nates singular point thereby effective use for an aircraft body changeable in the attitude with a large angular speed in a wide range.
