Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an elastic body for fixing having a superior lipophilic property and a superior offset preventing effect as well as superior heat and oil resistances by simultaneously curing 2 elasic layers on the surface of a fixing roller so as to firmly adhere the layers. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a tubular shaft 2 is coated with an adhesive material such as primer and further coated with an elastic material having oil and heat resistance such as fluorinated silicone rubber, fluorubber or acrylic rubber to form an inner layer 3a as the 1st layer. Before throughly curing the layer 3a, an outer layer 3b as the 2nd layer is formed by coating the layer 3a with an elastic material having a lipophilic property and an offset preventing effect such as silicone RTTV rubber or silicone LTV rubber. By allowing the elastic materials to stand or heating them, the inner layer 3a and the outer layer 3b are cured to manufacture the elastic body of a fixing roller T2.
