Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a head which is not only excellent in a high frequency characteristic but also low in a noise and long in life, by forming a thin film plate of an amorphous metal magnetic material, which has been formed like the teeth of a comb, to the shape like a ring, supporting it by a cylindrical holding member consisting of a ferromagnetic material, and also pinch-holding both end parts of the thin plate by a pinch-holder. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous thin plate 1 which is made of one sheet or laminated amorphous metal magnetic material and has been formed like the teeth of a comb is formed to the shape like a ring. This thin plate 1 is wound and made to adhere to the circumference of a cylindrical holding member 4 having a winding hole 2 and a notched part 3 communicating with this hole 2, and also both end parts of the thin plate 1, that is to say, a comb teeth part 1' like the teeth of a comb, and a base plate 1'' are joined through a nonmagnetic material 5, by which an operating space is formed. In this regard, the nonmagnetic material 5 functioning as this operating space is placed so as to be on the same straight line as the notched part of the cylindrical holding member 4, and is pinch-held and fixed by a slide pinch-holding body 6 whose section is a circular arc. In this way, a head having an excellent characteristic for recording with high density is produced easily and in large quantities.
