Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase a processing speed and to reduce a load on a CPU, by converting input codes which are high in frequency of use into secondary codes in a "kanji" (Chinese character) terminal.
CONSTITUTION: A control CT part (CPU)2 files preivously secondary codes high in frequency of use in a memory in the subconverting means 13 of an input and output part ("kanji" terminal) 10, and information on whether the secondary codes are filed in the memory in the means 13 in a memory in a conversion discriminating means 14. Input codes from an inputting means 11 are transferred to the means 14, which then discriminates whether the secondary codes corresponding to the input codes are filed in the means 13 or not by retrieving the memory in the means 14; when so, the input codes are transferred to the means 13. The means 13 generates and sends the secondary codes, which correspond to the input codes, to a code processing means 12. When the means 14 judges that the input codes are not filed in the means 13, the input codes are sent to a main converting means 21, which generates and sends the secondary codes to the means 12.
