Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a stable AGC operation possible, by performing the pilot AGC when the pilot signal is normal and by performing the average value AGC when the pilot signal is abnormal. CONSTITUTION:The optical input from an optical fiber 31 is converted to an electric signal by a light receiving diode 32 and is amplified by an amplifier 33 and is converted to an optical signal by a light emitting diode 34 and is transmitted to an optical fiber 35. A part of the output of the amplifier 33 is applied to a pilot extracting band pass filter 56, and an extracted pilot signal is converted to a DC by an amplifying and rectifying circuit 57 to control the bias voltage of the light receiving diode 32 through a changeover switch 59. When the pilot signal becomes abnormal, the changeover switch 59 is inverted, and an output obtained by applying the output of the light receiving diode 32 to an average receiving light power detecting and amplifying circuit 58 is used for the control of the bias voltage of the light receiving diode 32.
