Abstract

PURPOSE:To lower the level of the random noises generated in an ultrasonic picture, by obtaining the picture data to be newly written from the output data of a temporary storage circuit and the newly received picture data by means of a calculating circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a new picture data is inputted to a calculating circuit 12 through an A/D converter 11, also the picture data on the previous frame having been stored in a data temporary storage circuit 16 is inputted to the calculating circuit 12, where both the picture data calculated for each picture element according to the formula I [D: the picture data value sent to a picture memory 13, D1: the previous frame picture data value stored in the memory 13, D2: the present frame data value, and M: the weight applyikg value (M<1)]. In other words, supplying the luminance level of the picture elements at the n-1 frame is 0, and a spot noise of luminance level, e.g., 15 is detected at the n frame, as the results of the calculations, the spot noises stored in the memory 13 are of luminance level 15 at the n frame, 4 at the n+1 frame and 2 at the n+2 frame. Accordingly, by such a constitution, as the number of the frames progresses, the luminance thereof gradually decreases, so that the random noises generated in the picture can be lowered in level.
