Abstract
PURPOSE: An organotitanium compound is applied to the surface of the moldings of a linear armatic polyester containig a specific amount of silicon dioxide to produce the titled moldings used to reinforce rubber products, because of its high adhesion to rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A linear aromatic polyester containing structual units of formulaI (n is 2W6) as the major unit such as a polyester containing ehtylene glycol as the major glycol component and a silicon dioxide of 5W100 millimicron, preferably 7W 50 millimicron average particle size, by 0.3W15wt%, preferably 0.5W10wt% are mixed to form films or other moldings. The resultant moldings are coated with 0.5W10% solution of an organotitanium compound of formula II (R1WR4 are 2W24C alkyl, alkenyl, acryl) such as tetra-n-butyl titanate and heat treated at a temperature higher than 50°C and 10°C lower than the melting point of the polyester for 30W300sec.
