Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a slow-drying oil-based ink having excellent age stability, and suitable for writing utensils, recording instrument, stamp, jet printing, etc., by dissolving a specific alkylene oxide-addition-type dye in an alcoholic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective ink is prepared by dissolving (A) a dye of formula [D is residue of triphenylmethane dye, xanthene dye, acridine dye or azine dye free from sulfonate group or carboxyl group; X is O or -NR- (R is H, methyl, ethyl, phenyl or aralkyl); Y is methyl or ethyl; n is 1W20; m is 1 or 2]in (B) an alcoholic solvent such as propapnol, ethyl cellosolve, etc. The amounts of the dye (A) and the solvent (B) are pref. 5W30wt% and 50W90wt%, respectively.
EFFECT: Low toxicity and odor.
