PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive quartz oscillator which is superior in airtightness and durability by fitting a synthetic-resin-made base, supporting a quartz oscillating bar, in a synthetic-resin-made case, and by melt-sticking the fitted-in part by ultrasonic waves, and by further sealing it with an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:In a synthetic-resin-made case 6, a base 5' is pressed with a quartz oscillating bar 1 inside. The base 5' enters the case 6 and is held temporarily. Then, the whole case is vibrated by ultrasonic waves to melt-stick the case 6 and the fitted- in part B of the base 5' together. This melt-sticking is carried out in an atmosphere of nitrogen, etc., when an inert atmosphere is produced in the case 6. Further, in a recess part formed with the bottom of the base 5' and flanks of the case 6, an adhesive 7 is applied and cured at the normal temperature or by being heated for sealing. This method provides the sealing superior in airtightness and durability even when the synthetic-resin-made case is used.
