Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify an azimuth detector by finding the zero-crossing point of the 2nd higher harmonic obtained by adding the outputs generated when flux gate sensors arranged orthogonally are respectively driven by flux gate driving electric power sources shifted by 45 deg. to each other. CONSTITUTION:The output of a clock generator 11 is counted up by a counter 12 and, flux gate driving electric power sources ebx 64 , eby having 45 deg. phase shift to each other are outputted from power amplifiers 18, 19 through a T type flip-flop (FF) 14, a D type FF, and inverters 16, 17. Flux gate sensors 20, 21 are arranged orthogonally to each other detect (x) and (y) components of the magnetic field ex, ey and driven by the flux gate driving electric power sources ebx, eby. The output of sensors 20, 21 are proportional to the (x) and (y) components of the magnetic field and are generated as signals which have the frequency equal to twice the driving frequency and have 90 deg. phase shift to each other. These ouputs are added by an adder 22 and a signal exy is obtained through a band pass amplifier 23. By latching the count value from the leading edge of ebx to the zero-crossing point of eby, the detected azimuth is dis played digitally.
