Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor superior in environmental stability and durability, by providing on a substrate a photoconductive layer consisting of a photoconductor surface-treated with a silane-coupling agent, and a saturated polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor has a photoconductive layer consisting of a photoconductor surface-treated with 8 silan-coupling agent and a binder, such as saturated polyester. As an applicable organic functional group of the silanecoupling agent, gamma-glycidoxy-propyl, vinyl, beta-3,4-epoxycyclohexyl, and gamma-methacryoxypropyl groups are especially preferable. In the case of additionally providing an insulating layer on the photoreceptor for the main purpose of protecting the photoreceptor, improving its durability and dark decay characteristics, etc., the insulating layer is made comparatively thin, but in the case of using the photoreceptor for a specified electro-photographic process, it is made comparatively thick.
