PURPOSE:To copy a 2-color original sharply with color separated by once exposure, to shorten a time necessary for copying, and to obtain high reliability with simple constitution, by visualizing an electrostatic latent image with different chromaticcolors in sucession. CONSTITUTION:A black and red 2-color placed on a platen 11 is illuminated with an illumination system 21, and its image is formed on the surface of a photoreceptor 8 with lenses 22A including a filter and a mirror 22B. Then, a copying paper P in a cassette 13 is taken out one by one, guided to the lower part of the photoreceptor 18, the latent image is developed with a chromatic color, e.g. black toner in a development device 19A and a chromatic color, e.g. red toner in a developing devie 19B, and the visible image is transferred to the paper P with a transfer mechanism. The red toner is attached also to the surface of the black toner.
