PURPOSE:To improve the sharpness, by controlling the synthesized value according to the correlation of adjacent scanning line information, in a signal processing circuit which synthesizes a new signal from an existing signal and doubles the number of scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:The information included in an odd number of scanning line is outputted from (A) of a field memory 1, and the information included in an even number of scanning line is outputted from (B) of the field memory 1. The outputs are alternately outputted through switches S1, S2. An addition and synthesis circuit 2 processes the outputs of (A) and (B) of the memory 1 and the output is outputted via a switch S3. A correlation detecting circuit 3 detects the correlation of the both outputs (A) and (B) of the memory 1 to switch the switch S3 according to the degree of this relation. Thus, since the output of the circuit 2 is not used when no correlation, the sharpness is not lowered.
