Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnet of high performance by mixing powders convertible finally into iron oxide and strontium oxide by sintering with a prescribed amount of CaCl2 and by subjecting the mixture to calcination, pulverization, molding and sintering.
CONSTITUTION: Iron oxide powder or powder convertible into iron oxide by sintering is mixed with powder convertible into strontium oxide by sintering so as to make the molar ratio of Fe2O3/SrO5W6, and ≤1wt% CaCl2 is further added. This mixture is calcined and finely pulverized to ≤0.8μm average particle size. The fine powder is then press-molded and sintered.
