Abstract

PURPOSE: To circulatively conveyor articles along a looped conveyance passage, by providing a by-pass conveyor which is connected as a loop to a main conveyor.
CONSTITUTION: When a bundle of newspaper is conveyed to a transfer unit 6a by a main conveyor 3a and a wrapping machine 4a or a bundling machine 5a is in trouble, the bundle of newspaper is transferred onto a communication conveyor 8b by the transfer unit 6b. When the bundle of newspaper is moved to the transfer unit 6a by a by-pass conveyor 10 and the trouble is already eliminated, the bundle of newspaper is caused to join another bundle of newspaper brought by the main conveyor 3a and these bundles are conveyed toward the wrapping machine 4a. When the bundle of newspaper is moved to the transfer unit 6a by the by-pass conveyor 10 and the trouble is not yet eliminated, the bundle of newspaper is sent to a communication conveyor 10a by the transfer unit 6a and caused to joint another bundle of newspaper brought from counter stackers 1b, 1c by a transfer uniy 6c and these bundles are sent to the wrapping machine 4b.
