Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a molded item having a metalic appearance, by primarily molding a thermosettig resin molding composition into an item, and then secondary molding a thermosetting resin material including a pearlessence onto the surface of said item.
CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting resin molding composition such as phenol, resin, urea resin, melamine resin or the like is molded for example by compression molding, transfer molding, injection molding or the like into the primary item. A pearlessence is suitably mixed into the same thermosetting resin material as the composition for the primary item and molded monolithically over the surface of the primary item to obtain an item having a metalic appearance.
