Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a formed product that is free of shrinkage and has a colored pattern on it which is rigidly joined on to the formed product main body by piercing a gate hole that is tapered to its slender tip through a formed product main body with a concave portion on its surface and injecting colored molten resin from the gate hole.
CONSTITUTION: A formed product main body 11 is provided with a concave section 10 that is to become a pattern section, and a gate hole 12 which is in communication with the pattern concave section from the rear of the main body 11 and tapered to its slender tip towards the pattern concave section is pierced through the main body 11. The formed main body 11 is inserted into metallic dies 15 and 16 and molten resin of different colors are injected into the die cavity from a sprue 19 to form a colored pattern 20 on the formed main body 1. No shrinkage develops in the formed product, because the gate hole 12 is tapered to its slender tip toward the pattern section, and the pattern section does not peel off from the main body 11.
