Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the regenerating temperature for bringing about a re-jumidifiable condition and to improve the thermal efficiency of the captioned system adopted to perform cooling with cold water obtained by bringing damp air into contact with water, by a method wherein the water adhered to the porous glass which has dehumidified the damp air is removed from the porous glass by solar heat or the like.
CONSTITUTION: The damp air which has cooled water is introduced into a porous glass tube 1 through a pipe 2 and is dehumidified as a result of its contact with the glass tube 1. Further, the tube 1 is exposed to solar heat or other heat source to be deprovided of the water contained in the damp air adsorbed thereby by the heat collected from the solar heat so that the tube 1 is brought to a water adsorbable condition once again. The dehumidified damp air then passes through a pipe 2' and is transferred to the cooling system through a vessel 3.
