Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption by a method wherein the heat of waste hot water after use is collected by a heat exchanger and feed water is heated by the collected heat.
CONSTITUTION: In case where a washed material is rinsed after it is washed by hot water stored in a water tank 2, waste hot water is discharged by opening a water cock 19. In this case, the waste water is once stored in a tank 21 of the heat exchanger 17 and is then discharged from a drain 22. As a feed water pipe 16 is introduced into the tank 21, the feed water flowing into the heat exchanger adsorbs the heat of the waste water so that the temperature of the feed water rises up. Accordingly, when the washed material is rinsed by re-feeding the hot water, the temperature of the feed water rises up and therefore, the amount of combustion of fuel gas required for obtaining the same quantity of hot water of the same temperature can be reduced.
