Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment after the assembly by connecting a slider and a cylinder sliding on a guide rod arranged parallel with a fixed scale while a means of adjusting angles of the guide rod from outside. CONSTITUTION:A slider 20 and an index scale 16 reciprocate through an arm 20a in linkage with one end of a spindle in contact with an object to be measured. A photo detector 18 detects variations in the level of reflected light from source 10 between a main scale 12 and the index scale 16 to measure changes of the spindle. To adjust the parallelness of a stripe of both the scales 12 and 16, a screw 50 is loosed and an angle adjusting holder 34 is moved in the direction of B. At this point, a guide rod 36 and the slider 20 are connected together through a plate spring 40 while the slider 20 is brought into contact with the main scale 12 with a compression spring 44 thereby facilitating the adjustment after the assembly.
