Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrences of an offset, by giving a retaining force which returns a heat roller to the stopping location when the roller deviates from the standard stopping location, to a driving motor. CONSTITUTION:A laser printer is provided with a fixer 16 having a heat roller 4 and a back up roller 5, and a stacker which folds up printed paper 1. When the roller 4 deviates from the standard stopping location controlled by the value of a counter 27 when the rollers 4 and 5 contact with each other and the roller 4 is under stopped condition, a torque of a direction, along which the roller 4 is returned to the standard stopping location, is generated in a servo-motor 21, and a retaining force is given to the motor 21. Because of the retaining force, the paper 1 is pulled by a puller roller 9, etc., when the frictional force between the paper 1 and a fixing plate 3 is small, and thus, the occurrence of offset is prevented.
