Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively manufacture crystalline zeolite by adding a specified amount of crystalline zeolite to a mixture consisting of silica, alumina, an alkali metal and water, adjusting the reaction system to a specified pH, and causing a reaction under necessary conditions.
CONSTITUTION: The molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 in the mixture is about 10W500, and NaOH, KOH or the like is used as the alkali metal by about 0.01W50mol as M2O to 1mol of SiO2. The crystalline zeolite as seed crystals includes powder of zeolite ZSM-5, A-type zeolite or Y-type zeolite, and it is used by about 0.01W8wt% to the amount of SiO2 in the starting material. The reaction system is adjusted to 9.5W11pH, the reaction temp. to about 80W300°C, and the reaction time to about 0.5hrW30 days. After finishing the reaction the resulting crystals are cooled, separated, well washed in water and dried at ≥ about 100°C.
