Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve responding speed by a method wherein a digital code signal corresponding to the operator's posture is sensed and causes information pertaining to motor running speed to be read out of a microcomputer memory thereby controlling the motor. CONSTITUTION:When a pedal 13 is depressed forward from a released position, a signal disk 15 rotates together with said pedal, a sensor 16 detecting a digital code corresponding to one of the coded divisions of a signal disk 15 and the generating signals to this effect. Information pertaining to motor speed is read out of the memory of a microcomputer MC in response to a sensed signal representing a digital code. Comparison made between the width of a sensor 10 generated timing pulse corresponding to the rotation speed of a main shaft 3 and the sensed digital code, and a control signal is yielded by the microcomputer MC that causes the machine main shaft 3 rotation speed to match a specified speed supplied by the memory.
