Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength and durability of a transparent synthetic resin molding and an optical thin film by providing an intermediate layer between both. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer 2 is provided on a molding 1 consisting of a polymethyl methacrylate resin, and reflection preventing films consisting of SiO2 layers 3, 5, 7 and TiO2 layers 4, 6 are provided thereon. The layer 2 consists of coating a copolymer resin (mol. wt. about 30,000) of 95wt% methyl methacrylate and 5wt% trimethoxy organopolysiloxane by a dipping method and allowing the same to set at room temp. and its film thickness is 0.5mum. A methyl methacrylate resin is most effective as the transparent synthetic resin molding, and a polycarbonate resin, a polystyrene resin and an AS resin are also effective. The optical thin film may be a half mirror, a dichroic mirror, or polarizing beam splitter other than the reflection preventing films.
