Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize in-focus state to an approximate object, by shifting a negative lens group at the back of a fixed rear group in a system comprising a fixed front group, a magnification and reduction lens group containing a variator and a compensator and the above-mentioned fixed rear group respectively. CONSTITUTION:A zoom lens system comprising a fixed front groupI, a magnification and reduction lens group II including a variator and a compensator and a fixed rear group II which is fixed as a whole and contains a diaphragm S at its front or inside part in that order from the side of an object. A mobile lens F having the negative refractive power is provided at the side of an image from the diaphragm S in the group III, and this lens F is shifted toward the image to perform the focusing to the side of an approximate object. The ratio between the absolute value of the focal distance fF of the lens F and the focal distance of the group III is set at 0.1-2. Thus a well-balanced compensation is possible for the aberration fluctuation caused by the focusing.
