Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture 9 press metallic mold which is excellent in the dimensional accuracy, by inserting a die to a die holder after forming the same tapered section on the outer surface of the die and the inner surface of the die holder, and by covering the inner surface of the die with a super-hard material, when the die is fixed to the die holder.
CONSTITUTION: When a press metallic mold is formed by fixing a die 1 in a die holder 2, a section tapered in 0.02W4° is formed on the outer surface of the die 1 made of a super-hard alloy, and, at the same time, a coating layer of a super-hard compound, such as carbide, nitride, boride, or silicide of the 4th, 5th, and 6th group elements-Ti, V, Nb, Cr, W, Mo, Zr, Ta, etc.-is formed on the inner surface of the die 1. Then, the same section tapered in 0.02W4° as the one formed on the outer surface of the die 1 is formed on the inner surface of the steel made die holder 2 and at the same time, several grooves 2c for soldering material are installed into the inner peripheral surface 2a of the die holder in the direction of the axis of the die holder. Then die 1 is thrusted into the die holder 2, and a soldering material is poured into the grooves 2c and the die 1 is fixed to the die holder 2, then the upper and lower surfaces of the die holder 2 are shaved off so as to coincide the surfaces A and B of die 1 with the upper and lower surfaces of the die 1, and thus a press metal mold is formed.
