Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent operators from being exposed to the danger of pollution by collecting a sample through pressing smear paper against a material to be inspected which is mounted on a turntable provided in the outside of a protection wall, while remotely operating a manupilator from the inside of the protection wall. CONSTITUTION:A material to be inspected, e.g., drum 9 is mounted on a turntable 2 in the outside of a protection wall 1 which has a viewing window 11 and then turned by a motor. Through a remote console panel 7 provided inside of the protection wall 1, a manipulator 3 is operated remotely through observing through the viewing 11 to press smear paper 10 held by a hand 32, against the tntire surface of the drum 9, thus collecting a sample. The base 31 to which a freely rotatable arm 33 and the hand 32 are fitted in the manipulator 3 is movable forth and back, and up and down to smear said material of a variety of shapes. The smear paper 10 having the collected sample is taken out of the window 12 and inspected, and if it is polluted, flushing is carried out. A label where the process result is entered is appended to said material. Consequently, operators are protected against the danger of pollution. This is utilized favorably for, specially, the radioactivity field.
