Abstract

PURPOSE: To compensate a part of momentary missing of a reproduced color video signal, by replacing the dropout period in a synthesized color video signal into a luminance signal before 1H.
CONSTITUTION: A synthesized color video signal is applied to a fixed terminal (a) of a selector switch 2. The selector switch 2 has fixed terminals (a), (b) and a common terminal (c), the terminals (a), (c) are normally closed and switching control is made with a dropout detection signal from an input terminal 3. If no dropout takes place, a color video signal incoming to an input terminal 1 is given to an output terminal 4 via the switch 2. When the dropout is detected, a signal delayed by 1H one horizontal scanning period obtained via an amplitude modulator 5, 1H delay circuit 6, and detection circuit 7 is given to the output terminal 4 in place of a playback synthesized color video signal with dropout.
