Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve palatability of a silkworm, to reduce an amount of agar as a vehicle, and to lower the price of the raw material of feed, by preparing the feed by pressure method.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material blend of feed having a given blending composition is kneaded with a fixed amount of water, constant amount of the prepared mixture is fed to a proper heat-resistant and water-resistant bag made of plastic and heated at 80W110°C for a proper time while being pressured at least at ≥5kg/cm2 by a press or a pressure pot, and it is cooled to prepare a feed. The heating time required is varied with the heating temperature and the pressure applied.
