Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp high resolution color image low in fog, by using a light transmitting particles for color image formation containing a specified phenoxazine compound. CONSTITUTION:Light transmitting particles for image formation contain as a sublimable colorless dye, a 3,7-dialkylamino-10-(N-substituted carbamoyl)-phenoxazine compound represented by the formula in which R is lower alkyl and X is branched alkyl or cyclohexyl. Said particles are made by spray drying a colored thermoplastic resin solution, mixing the particles obtained with a resin solution containing said sublimable dye, and spray drying this mixture, or by coating said dye solution on glass beads. Alternatively, a coloring dye and said dye may be dispersed into a transparent resin beinder and granulated. These particles are scattered on a charged photosensitive plate, imagewise exposed, and a color image is formed by utilizing the phenomenon that the particles lose an electrostatic attraction force. Said sublimable dye is lower in sublimation temperature than conventional dyes, higher in color development density, and prevents deterioration and yellowing of a color developing agent.
