Abstract

PURPOSE:To relax the limitation of the number of continuous copying sheets owing to the deficiency of electric power by controlling the rotating speed of a fixing roller and the pressure between said roller and a pressurizing roller according to the drop in the circumferential surface temp. of the fixing roller. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential temp. of a fixing roller 1 is detected by a temp. sensor 5, and is compared with plural set values in a comparator 6, and a motor 9 and a cam 10 are controlled by a driving circuit 8. When the circumferential temp. of the roller 1 drops, the rotating speed of the roller 1 is so controlled by the motor 9 and the cam 10 as to lower stepwise and the pressure between said roller and a pressurizing roller 2 as to increase stepwise. Thereby, the nip time is increased according to the drop of the circumferential surface temp. of the roller 1.
