Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an efficient working with any parts of various kinds in a small- quantity production with excellent versatility by designing a main spindle retainer having interchangeability in pitches which is mounted with a tool at its tip end to be movable.
CONSTITUTION: A rod 19 or an oil pressure cylinder 18 fixed to a body frame 11 is connected through which the operation of the cylinder 18 is transmitted to the spindle retainer so that it advances and retreats on a slide shaft of a slide base 16 so as to make the tool cut a material to be worked. On the slide base 12 are mounted two main spindle heads 21, each head 21 has a main spindle retainer 23 for retaining a rotary main spindle 22. This retainer 23 is slidable on the head 21 in the axial direction. As a pinion formed in the base part of a handle engages with a rack fixed at the upper part of the head 21, the axial movement of the retainer 23 can be easily adjusted. The working machine thus constructed is useful in the working of any kind of parts of a small-scaled production with excellent versatility.
