Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect heat accumulating plates from being damaged by soot blowing force in a regenerative rotary heat exchanger for handling exhaust gas of a dry-type exhaust-gas desulfurizing apparatus, by attaching protective plates to rotor diaphragms of a heat accumulating unit.
CONSTITUTION: Protective plates 9 are attached to diaphragms 7 which are disposed at positions dividing a rotor 5 circumferentially into twelve or twenty-four equal parts and located just on the upstream side of the rotor 5 in respect of the flow of fluid ejected from a soot blowing nozzle. At the same time, the above protective plates 9 are attached also to baskets 8 which support heat accumulating plates 6 fitted in each of the sectors. By the function of these protective plates 9, it is enabled to protect the end portions of the heat accumulating plates 6 from being damaged by the force of fluid ejected from the soot blowing nozzles.
