Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to automatically adjust a stretch or the like in a control wire by disposing, in an intermediate portion of a control wire connecting between a control lever and an actuating device of a brake mechanism or the like, an automatic adjuster of unit type including a unidirectionally rotating mechanism of ratchet type.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic adjuster a is disposed in an intermediate portion of a control cable W connecting between a control lever fitted to the handle bar of an autocycle and an actuating lever of a brake mechanism such as, for example, the rear brake mechanism of the autocycle. The adjuster comprises an adjusting rod 3, a unidirectionally feeding mechanism 6 consisting of a clutch member 4 and a spring 5, and a unidirectionally rotating mechanism 19 consisting of an adjusting lever 15 and a tension spring 18. The unidirectionally rotating mechanism 19 can unidirectionally rotate an adjusting member 11 threadedly engaged with an adjusting bolt 2 in association with the adjusting member 11 reciprocatingly sliding, thereby to adjust an inner wire Wi under a predetermined tension.
